How We Met
Markus and I met nearly 9 years ago when he was a senior in High school and I was a sophomore. It was the last day of school and he happened to be hanging out in my study hall hour. We had gone to the same school our whole lives met never really knew each other until our friends had started dating. He was eating a bag of candy and asked me to grab one and try and guess the color before I saw it. And since that day we have been inseparable. We’ve been through high school graduations together, 2.5 years of our relationship was long distance, and he was with me when I finally graduated college!
How They Asked
We were on a trip to visit his aunt and uncle in Florida with his parents. The first full day we were there Markus suggested going to a certain beach that we had visited in previous years visiting his family to watch the sunset. The entire ride to the beach I could tell he wasn’t himself, but I just chalked it up to a long day in the sun. We got to the beach and his aunt wanted to take a couple of pictures of us in the sunset. Side note, I HATE pictures..so I was complaining the whole time (lol). After she captured the pictures she had me come up close to the camera and look at the shots. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Markus get down on one knee.
I immediately burst into tears, and the first thing I asked was “did you ask my mom?!” Followed by “are you really serious?” It was the most perfect thing I could have ever asked for.
