How We Met
Dylan and I met when we were 7th grade at an ice skating rink. We went to school together but our paths never crossed until then. We were friends on and off up through high school. The summer before our senior year of high school, we met up at a party. Dylan hugged me and when he did he picked me up, it felt like we were the only two in the room. We shared our first kiss that night and started dating within the following weeks. I knew he was the one that night and I continue to fall in love with him more each and every day.
How They Asked
Dylan and I started dating our senior year of high school. I soon became close with his family, especially his sisters. My now future sister in law suggested we go to the city for a girls trip to try this waffle place in Bryant Park. I was definitively confused because they all hate the city and we could get waffles on the island. On August 25th, 2018 we went into the city. We decided to go to Madame Tussaud’s first and then head over to the waffle place in Bryant Park. My one sister in law was 9 months pregnant and had to eat by 4 pm, they told me. We also thought she was going into labor while we were in the city, they were all freaking out! So at 4pm, we headed over to Bryant Park. They wanted to take some “cute pictures” in front of the fountain. As we got closer we notice a flash mob going on.
They want to go watch and as we got closer we heard the song “Marry Me” by Jason Derulo playing. I thought to myself “could this be it?” But quickly talked myself out of it as Dylan was at home and how could he get into the city? Before I knew it Dylan is in front of me dancing with the flash mob. I immediately started crying and couldn’t believe it was happening.
Surrounded by his family (and a couple of hundred people), my best friend asked me to spend forever with him. Of course, I said yes! He made my dream proposal come true and I couldn’t imagine spending my life with anyone but him.
