Zach and I met on New Year’s Eve 2011. We both happened to be at the same New Year’s Eve party in Seattle at the EMP. There were thousands of people, cash only bars, and one ATM. The line was incredibly long and we spent probably close to an hour together waiting our turn to withdrawal.He was full of corny jokes and made the wait tolerable. He did his withdrawal and it took everyLast bit of cash out of that machine. I already knew that I liked him, but also knew he was my last chance at drinks for the night since he got the rest of the money the ATM had.

We got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2018. Looking back now, I should have seen the clues but At the time it was a complete surprise . All I knew was that we were going to dinner,Just as we had done for Valentine’s Day in previous years. My parents came over to watch the kids and as we headed out the door to the car, a limo pulled up. It took us to one of our favorite restaurants, The Pacific Grill, the place where we had our first official date on Valentine’s Day 2012. I still was oblivious. I faintly heard violin music in the background and then realized that the violinist was playing one of my favorite songs , Can’t help falling in love with you by Elvis. The music got louder until she was standing right behind me. I look over to Zach and he was down on one knee with the most amazing ring I’d ever seen. To this day we stillJoke about how I have no clue what he said to me when he proposed because I was in total shock that it was finally happening.
