Megan and Walter

Where to Propose in Quaint courtyard in the Plaza de Armas, Havana, Cuba

How We Met

It was a gorgeous September evening when we met for the first time at The Hamilton Kitchen and Bar in downtown Allentown, PA. We immediately connected over a few gin fizzes. When Walter reluctantly walked me to my car, we did not know that we were saying goodnight in front of our future wedding reception location! After that first date, we both realized that something special was about to happen. Quickly, we began texting and talking on the phone frequently and the rest is history!

How They Asked

Megan and Walter often discussed getting engaged, so when Walter suggested going on a cruise to Cuba for Megan’s birthday, she sensed that he might pop the question. As a result, when they arrived in Havana on April 10th, Megan kept an eye on the security tray and Walter’s pockets. To her disappointment, she did not see any resemblance of a ring box. As they strolled through the picturesque cobblestone-lined streets of Old Havana, Megan convinced herself that Walter was not going to propose.

Megan didn’t know that Walter was searching for the perfect spot to pop the question. A few hours later, they stumbled upon a quaint courtyard in the Plaza de Armas. He got down on one knee and asked Megan to marry him. Of course, she said YES – and she was surprised!
