How We Met
Tyler and I met while he was playing baseball in the Chicago Cubs Organization in Myrtle Beach, SC. That’s actually my hometown and a field I ran out on as a little league softball gal. Believe it or not, we met on bumble. I didn’t know what to expect but it was a whirlwind romance. As soon as we exchanged numbers and met in person, we both deleted the app and it was game over. I had just left my job as a TV news reporter in North Carolina. Having the summer to spend with him, watch him play and just enjoy time together was something I will always treasure. The day his season ended, we packed up and moved across country to my next job as a TV news anchor in Colorado. Since then, we have spent time exploring our new home and getting ready for this upcoming baseball season. He’s been everything I’ve wanted and didn’t know I needed in a partner.
how they asked
Knowing me, you know I hate surprises. I’m usually the one surprising others. A favorite part of my childhood was scavenger hunts, especially on holidays and birthdays to my gifts. That’s how my Mom and Dad gave me my four-wheeler, golf cart and a family vacation to Disney. Those are stories I always tell. Memories I’ll never forget. Monday January 8th, which began my weekend because I am off on Mondays and Tuesdays, I woke up to flowers and my first clue rolled up on the table. It led me all around Colorado Springs to places we have been since the move…the sushi restaurant we go to every Monday night, Garden of the Gods, fishing holes in Manitou we found, Red Rock Canyon open space where we’ve been hiking and finally to my last destination where I saw him waiting at the end of the trail. It was the perfect day and I’m forever grateful for this person that was placed in my life. It still doesn’t seem real.
