How We Met
My fiancé and I originally met in high school. However, it wasn’t love at first sight. We were good friends through high school and into college. We went to separate colleges, but both in Philadelphia- I went to Temple and he went to Drexel. He was a wrestler for Drexel so had to be very strict and was unable to go out as much as an average college student. However, every week he would use his “cheat day” to go to our favorite bar for wing night, $1 Miller lights, and good music. As the months went on, we began to date.
How They Asked
Fast forward 6 years, we were planning to go to the city to meet up with my friend and her fiancé at the same bar for wings. I didn’t think anything of it because we occasionally made the trip here for good wings. When Brandon and I arrived, we were instructed to wait at the door before going in (I figured it was due to covid). The owner came out, took us to a table, and brought us waters. We were the only people in the bar at the time. At that point, in my mind, we were waiting for my friend and her fiancé to arrive. However, that wasn’t the case… Brandon then got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, I said, YES! Soon after, 6 of my best friends came out from the back of the bar to surprise me and congratulate the both of us. The entire time, my friend’s fiancé was actually hiding in the loft upstairs taking pictures as the entire thing unfolded. We all celebrated with some wings and a lemon drop shot- what better way?! This place will continue to mean something to us for the rest of our lives!
