How We Met
We met in high school, it was my freshman year and he was a sophomore. It started out as us becoming friends and a few weeks later we hung out for the first time at a Halloween party one of his friends was having. We talked most of the night and then continued texting after I went home. We texted and saw each other between classes when we could. Finally, after being just friends for 4 months Jordan asked me to be his girlfriend! We contiuned dating for all of high school and made it through some of the toughest times for couples. Jordan moved almost an hour away to go to college while I finished up my senior year. After I graduated I moved to the same city as Jordan and after a semester I moved back home only to have him move home as well for a job. Six years later I get to say I am marrying my high school sweetheart!
how they asked
On January 17th we put in an offer on what would be our first home and we were both excited to be taking this big step in our lives together! About a month later on February 25th it was our closing day for our house. I was anxiously waiting for 3:30 to get off work to go sign the papers and get the keys to our house but I had no idea what was really happening that day! When got the keys and headed for our new home. Our parents, his grandma, and his siblings were already there ready to see our house and to help us start moving our stuff in. After giving everyone a tour his mom wanted to take a picture of us in front of the house so we all headed outside. After a few pictures I felt Jordan reach for my hands and turn me towards him. As he got down on one knee I realized what was happening. Jordan isn’t a very emotional person and doesn’t like talking about how he feels but as he held my hands he told me how much he loved me and why he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. My heart was racing as he pulled the ring box out of his pocket and opened it up; I couldn’t imagine a more perfect ring from a more perfect person. As Jordan put the ring on my finger I began crying because it finally hit me that I was going to get to spend the rest of my life with him!
