How We Met: John Jay and I met in Austin, Tx while we were both studying at the University of Texas at Austin.
how they asked: In Austin there is a wall with the phrase “I love you so much” written on it. John Jay and I have been dating for almost five years and every time we found ourselves near South Congress I would ask him if we could take a picture next to the “I love you so much wall” and he would teasingly answer “once we’re engaged”.
You can imagine my surprise that after almost five years of dating we found ourselves going to dinner near the sign and he asked if I wanted to take a picture with the “I love you so much” sign. I couldn’t believe it, but I was not about to question it!
After we smiled and posed for a couple of seconds for his GoPro I was getting ready to walk towards the camera and check the pictures for approval when he reached for my arm for a hug and a kiss when he said “I have a question to ask you” and he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him.
I could not believe he was proposing especially because I was wearing the same outfit I had worn the night before! I was completely surprised and turns out he recorded the whole proposal!
