Maryelyse and Jordan

Maryelyse and Jordan's Engagement in A horse farm outside of Philadelphia

How We Met

Jordan and I met through mutual friends our Sophomore year in college. A friend of mine gave him my number and we started texting and talking before meeting eachother in person at a friends house. We clicked instantly and ended up staying up all night talking while eating numerous bags of popcorn. We bonded over our love for animals, our family, and food! I brought Jordan to a horse farm that I worked and rode at since I was 5 years old. I was so excited to show my favorite place in the world to him. We would spend hours there together just talking and spending time with the animals, it was our peaceful place we would go to whenever we felt stressed or just wanted to relax. Before I knew it Jordan asked me to be his girlfriend and we spent the past few years traveling and enjoying every moment together (pictures below) Now years later here we are engaged and settled into our professional careers.

Proposal Ideas A horse farm outside of Philadelphia

how they asked

It was a Friday night and I was driving home from work when Jordan called me and asked if I wanted to go to the barn to watch the sunset. We both had a stressful week so I thought it was a perfect way for us to rewind and relax. I went home and changed into my “barn clothes” and met him there. We sat and talked for a while before he mentioned we should go give the horses some treats. We walked out into the pasture to our favorite horse, Coffee and as I was giving him his treat when I turned around and Jordan was on one knee with the ring in his hand! He asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! It was such a special moment. Jordan picked the perfect place to propose as we have so many special memories there. The farm is called Chunk Of Heaven Horse Farm, and boy does it feel like heaven to us! It was such a simple (as you can see I was wearing a Tshirt, shorts with my hair in a bun) yet amazing proposal!
