How We Met
Blake and I began dating in middle school (7th and 8th grade) and have been inseparable ever since. We met on a student council field trip to Washington, D.C., he asked for my cell phone number, and by the end of the trip our text signatures were “martin&blake<3” because #middleschool. We have been best friends ever since and we are so blessed to have grown up together and now we are so so excited to start this next chapter and grow old together as husband and wife!
How They Asked
Blake and I have been season pass holders at the Biltmore House for the last several years. It has always been a special place for us to go on a date for the day, take our dog for a walk around the grounds, or enjoy their beautiful holiday decorations. Since we go so often, it was not out of the ordinary for us to make the trip to Asheville one Saturday. What started out as a normal day turned into the BEST day when Blake proposed in the most beautiful spot right in front of the house and he even had a photographer hidden to capture the moment for us! As if that wasn’t enough, Blake, our parents, and best friends had surprise engagement party planned for us that evening with all of our families and best friends from home and school to celebrate with. It was the most special day and I was SO surprised!
