Tips for Planning

  1. The seasons in Europe are the same as North America, but the weather can vary by country, especially depending on the time of year. Make sure you check the weather forecasts and take that into consideration when planning!
  2. If you are wanting to get professional photos of the proposal, try having the photographer pretend they are a stranger and ask them to take your picture. With such beautiful scenery, she will probably think nothing of it.
  3. If your proposal involves water, hiking, or another activity make sure she is okay in more comfortable clothes. If you know she wants to be dressed up for her proposal, keep that in mind when planning.
  1. Proposing in a foreign country, especially if it is your first time, can be a daunting task. Don't be afraid to ask for help! Often times the manager or owner of your hotel can be a great resource.
  2. Maybe you are considering wearing a Go-Pro to record the proposal. Don't wait until the trip to buy and use the Go-Pro (or any camera). Get it ahead of time. This will allow you to test it out, but it also won't make her suspicious why all of a sudden you bought a new gadget.
  3. Just the two of you in Europe? Make sure to get an international date plan that supports Facetime or international calls so that you can include family and friends that can't be present at the proposal.
