How We Met
Justin and I met when he was a sophomore in high school and I was a junior. We became fast friends and I considered him one of my best friends. A year later, he was asking me to be his girlfriend, over and over again, and my answer was always “No… I don’t want a boyfriend”. Oops :).
I had plans to go out of state for school, to travel and move to the east coast, and I knew, that if I said YES to him, I would marry the boy. In February of 2011, I got a call from my dream school right in Billings, Mt. Our home town. And something just felt right. That cold day 7 years ago, determined our future together.
how they asked
My father passed away when I was 15, and every year leading up to his sudden death, he took my sister and I to watch the hot air balloons take off and “glow” at dusk. So naturally, Justin picked up my father’s tradition when we started dating at 17. It was Justin’s way of keeping his spirit alive. Flash forward seven years, and there we were, standing under the last two balloons still up in the park. Justin got down on one knee, and asked for my hand in marriage. It was his way of asking my father’s permission – his way of making sure, my father did not miss a thing.
