Marley and Greg

Where to Propose in Torrey Pines, San Diego

How We Met

Greg and I went to Northeastern University and met when he approached my roommate and I walking, to invite us to a party, that we were already going to! Nice try though bud. It ended up being a mutual friend’s party that he was on the baseball team with, and we kept running into each other thereafter, quickly becoming good friends. We both dated other people and kept in touch after college as well- still just friends. One day he (clearly drunk) asked me to go on a date and we’ve been together ever since. Through long distance dating and then moving across country together for his job, we finally got engaged after 3.5 years. It’s funny because my aunt saw his Facebook before we even talked about going on a date, and she told me that one day we would get married, which did make me laugh in her face, but she was right!

Engagement Proposal Ideas in Torrey Pines, San Diego

how they asked

On a recent trip to San Diego, where we were lucky enough to live last year, we went on a hike at our favorite spot Torrey Pines. It was the first hike we’d ever gone on and quickly became our favorite to bring friends and family who visited. I always go past the “do not cross $500 fine” sign to get a better view of the cliff, but not once has he joined me in my risk taking. This time was different though, and he hopped over before me, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. When I jumped in his arms, I saw a photographer snapping the moment and I was speechless for the first time in my life.
