Mark and Kianna

Wedding Proposal Ideas in Montage hotel, Laguna Beach

How We Met

My view: Our story began on July 2016 at the oh so very famous Denny’s in Lake Forest. I’ll never forget the butterflies I got in my stomach when I first saw Mark. The first thing I noticed about him was his eyes, they were so warm and inviting, but…to be honest his tattoos played a huge part in my attraction to him because he looked like a total bad boy and I LOVED IT!

I believe God brought us together that night for a reason. Mark and I were both at a transitional point in our lives when we met each other. Mark was about to drop his old life in California and move to Texas, and I was working my way up from my own personal rock bottom. We were both looking for a positive change in our lives, but neither of us was expecting to fall in love.

Now let me tell you, there must have been a love potion in our late-night coffee because we have been inseparable since that night! Before Mark dropped me off at home he ended up driving us to one of his favorite views of Laguna Beach. While listening to music and talking each other’s ears off, he ended up sneaking in a romantic kiss under the bright moonlight…I’m pretty sure that was the moment Mark realized he would need to cancel his upcoming move to Texas!…..That magical night was the beginning of a new start.

His view: On July 16th, 2016, I received a friend request from the beautiful Kianna Lindley, of course, I accepted and sent her message. “Hey there,” I said… she did not respond for a solid 10 hours and you bet it felt like 100. But when she did respond I was excited this beautiful girl actually responded, crazy right? I know… Anyways, 3 days went by before she gave me her phone number, well actually I had to give her mine, and then prayed that she would respond! Good thing she texted me or y’all might have not had the pleasure of reading this. July 20th, 2016 I asked her if she’d like to get a bite to eat.. well she wanted coffee so in a scramble I found someone open at 11 o’clock at night that had coffee. Denny’s…. we went Denny’s on our first date. I wanted food and she wanted coffee so it was a win-win. From there the rest is history… that was the first time I had the time of my life just having a conversation. She let me inside her mind and our spirits spoke.

How They Asked

I said yes!

On the day that Mark and I got engaged, he tricked me and told me that we were going to go watch the Pageant of The Masters in Laguna Beach with my mom and dad. He made sure that I looked nice going to work in the morning because we were supposed to go to a nice dinner before the show….or so I thought.

Little did I know that one of my best friends was going to pick me up from my old job at Tillys to lead me on a scavenger hunt which leads to my engagement. Every step of the way was an important woman in my life waiting to give me the next clue. The scavenger hunt highlighted our love story because every location meant something very special to us.

The last stop was at the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach. All of our important family members and friends surrounded the grass area overlooking the beach as he got on his knee to pop the big question. This place was the most special to us because it’s where we first said I love you and it was the same place that I got to say yes to marrying the man of my dreams!

I couldn’t be luckier. Mark is such a genuine and kind-hearted person and all of the work that he put into this engagement shows it all. He’s my best friend and I’m so happy I get to spend the rest of my life with him. Our Wedding Engagement was a dream come true. This video brings me to tears every time I watch it.
