My fiancé Mark invited me to a work dinner with colleagues the night before our trip to the Amalfi coast. I thought “Why not? It’s a perfect way to start off our vacation”. My bags were packed, nail appointment made and blowout scheduled for the next day before our flight. Unfortunately, I put a semi kink in his master plan. I was invited to a Style Me Pretty event the same night. As an invitation designer in love with SMP I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to meet the editor. Mark played it cool “pushed back dinner” and told me to meet everyone for a drink before at PHD (one of our favorite rooftops) in NYC. When I got there I didn’t find it odd that his colleagues hadn’t arrived yet. I joined Mark on one of the couches sipped on a cold glass of rose and admired the skyline. It was an incredible evening and was about to get even more unforgettable unbeknownst to me. I tried to engage him in conversation but he was way too distracted. He probably couldn’t take it any longer. Pulling me aside he told me we weren’t going to dinner. He got on one knee, pulled out a red shiny box and asked me to marry him. Obviously, I said yes! He hired a photographer to capture the entire moment . Twenty minutes later both families surprised us, mine all the way from Buffalo and his from New Jersey. It was the absolute best day of my life. Eventually our closest friends in New York popped bottles with us to complete the evening. We were surrounded by so much happiness and love. “We met in NYC and feel in love here I thought it was the perfect place to get engaged”. Those were his last words of the night. #sayyestosavino
