How We Met
We met in 2010, I was a barista at Starbucks and Michael is a firefighter for LA County. It took many moments of shared laughs and instant attraction, and then a wonderful friendship until he realized I was in love with him but more so that he was in love with me. Once I met his two kids and family I was even more in love with the life we would be sharing. We had our first official date in Laguna Beach and walked to a small spot over looking the water that became a staple for us.
How They Asked
March is his birthday month and I always like to plan special outings and gather our friends and family to celebrate with us. I planned a night getaway for us as well as invited his buddies and their awesome wives and girlfriends to meet us at the Laguna Beach Brewery and Grille at 12 on St. Patrick’s Day. As we make our way there Michael asks to take a small detour so we begin to walk in the opposite direction. We are walking and taking in the lovely backdrop that Laguna has to offer, he was walking with a purpose and I gladly followed as he was holding onto my hand. We make our way that same exact spot we always come back to. As we walked near the end, he begins to tell me how much he loves me and how he has never found a love like the one we share. It was a meaningful and deep conversation and one that got him down on one knee and asked me to be his, forever. I was in tears instantly and when I looked at him he was in tears as well. It was a moment that will forever be with me. He is truly the most amazing person I have ever met and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life by his side, slow dances in the kitchen and all.
