How We Met
We met on Plenty of Fish (POF). I was planning on deleting the app the night I messaged Ross. I had bad luck with online dating… I was either getting creeps or not getting any replies. I was about ready to give up and delete my POF app off my phone when I came across Ross’s profile. Immediately his picture caught my attention, since he was wearing a cross country shirt with the name of the university I just graduated from. After reading his profile and how genuine he sounded, I sent him a message and he replied.
How They Asked
My friend Tori asked if Ross and I wanted to go to the Cleveland Zoo to see the Wild Winter lights. Unbeknownst to me, Ross had called my friend Tori to set everything up…which included having Tori ask about going to the zoo. The zoo is a special place for me and Ross. A little over three years ago, Ross and I had our third date at the zoo. There’s a spot at the zoo, that we have deemed as “our spot.” There is a deck overlooking a beautiful pond where during summer time you can sit at a table and have a picnic or eat ice cream. That spot is the place I first told Ross I loved him. Fast forward to present time… after we all walked through the zoo seeing all the lights, we came to our spot. Ross had asked if Tori could take a picture of us and as I was getting ready to pose Ross turned to me and said “ I know things this year have been tough, but hopefully I can make it better.” At that moment, Ross got down on one knee and asked me the question I always wanted to hear.
