How We Met
Matt and I met in high school and started dating at the end of our senior year. We ended up going to colleges that were close to each other in the Bay Area of California. We would visit each other on weekends and whenever our colleges had big events. We continued our relationship after college when we both moved back to our hometown. One year later we decided to take our relationship to the next level and move into our first apartment together where he proposed to me a year and a half later. We went to our senior prom together. We helped move each other into our college dorms. We made a home together. And now we will be spending the rest of our lives together!
how they asked
I usually don’t work on Friday’s but Matt does. We were just waking up around 7:30 in the morning and I noticed he wasn’t getting ready for work. I asked him if he was going in today and he said “I’m late so maybe not” and I begged him to stay home and hang out with me and he said “ok!”. This was the best surprise ever because he normally never takes days off of work. He then told me to wait and he actually has a present to give me. (I have to preface that I have been wanting a puppy but it is not the right time for us to get one considering I am finishing graduate school and Matt is taking on new responsibilities at work.) I waited, still sleepy as it was early and excited that we would be hanging out together, and Matt walked into our room with a stuffed animal corgi with a ring tied around its neck.
I was in complete shock and surprise! And after all the “really’s?” and “is this really happening right now?” I said YES OF COURSE! Matt continued to surprise me the rest of the weekend with saying he wasn’t ever really going to go into work that day and to pack a bag because we were going to Napa for a spa and wine weekend. That evening he surprised me with a dinner with both our families and later surprised me with spending the day with our two best friends to celebrate. It was a magical weekend and we cannot wait to continue all the magic, love, and fun on our wedding day and for the rest of our lives.
