Maria and Sean

how we met

Maria came to our corporate site for a visit. I happened to be there as well attending a conference. When I was on break, I noticed her sitting in the break area. She says I gave her a weird look at first. We briefly met before I returned to my conference. The next day, she came to my site for a tour. When she arrived, we hugged one another. Something felt different. Later, we went to lunch. It was at that moment, I realized there was a connection. After lunch, we returned to my site. Before she left, we hugged again. I felt something I had never felt before. Later, she told me the same. We exchanged numbers and talked about meeting on that Saturday before she left town.

how they asked

The proposal happened in Downtown Dallas on the walking bridge near Trinity Grove. I arranged for two photographers to be there. We worked out the logistics. It definitely was a surprise. I was really nervous! I tried to play it out in my head; thinking what would I say and such. I have never been so nervous in my life. I just wanted that day to be perfect for her. I told her we had reservations for 7pm at one of the restaurants in Trinity Grove. As we headed there, I started to get really nervous. I get quiet when I’m nervous. The entire way there, I forced myself to talk to her. I didn’t want her to notice how nervous I was. We arrived on time. I said to her, “Let’s take a walk before dinner”. She never questioned me. When we started walking on the bridge, one of the photographers snapped a picture. She thought it was odd but laughed it off. Once we reached the proposal area, we stopped. We looked at the skyline together. As she continued looking, I nervously pulled the ring out of my pocket and got down on one knee. I then said…Hey. When she turned around, she was shocked. I told her how much I love her and how amazing she is to me. We both started to tear up. It was an amazing moment.
