How We Met
Joe and I were first introduced on my 21st birthday. I was infatuated with him instantly. I’d like to think he felt the same way considering my cousin hit on him first but his eyes remained on me. We started dating days later and like all things we lose touch for a short period of time until we rekindled in 2014. Our first date after rekindling he had a mustache since it was no shave November and believe it or not we’ve been inseparable ever since. I did ask him to shave the mustache shortly after our first date. I moved in a few months later and now it’s been five years and I can’t imagine my life without him. He truly is my better half. We often traveled to many places but in the past two years we visited Italy because my father and family live there.
How They Asked
Soon I learned the most recent trip to Italy would be different than the rest. I arrived back from America with a full belly and heavy hand. He made my dream come true and proposed in one of the most beautiful places in the world! Ravello. Amalfi coast is where he changed my life forever, in Villa Cimbrone. I couldn’t possibly think of a more beautiful place to be asked to marry the love of my life with the amazing gardens and my family surrounding us.
He asked one of my family members to take a picture of us overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and as we were posing he whispers in my ear while taking out a lemon box “Is the juice worth the squeeze?” I have to say I was completely shocked and paused with tears running down my cheeks. Once I snapped back to the reality, of course, I said yes and he opens the lemon box revealing the most stunning ring I’ve ever laid eyes on.
