How We Met
I never thought I would meet the love of my life while I was working as a waitress at a small Mediterranean restaurant in Newport Beach. The first day I met Teri and Greg, nearly five years ago to the day, Teri jokingly said, “I want you to be my daughter in law. You should really meet my son!” They went on to become two of my regular customers, constantly hoping to pawn off their son on me. A few months (and awkward pictures exchanged) later, Matt drove down from LA to meet me. Five years later, we are so grateful for Teri’s persistence because we fell madly in love. It’s difficult to imagine life without each other. We have been fortunate enough to travel and share countless experiences together, including meeting each other’s family from around the world.
how they asked
On what has become an annual family holiday trip to Napa Valley, Matt seized the perfect opportunity to pop the question. We were thrilled with the opportunity to finally take an exclusive private tour at Quintessa, a vineyard we had long hoped to visit without success. The hike we took up the long, windy trail was well worth it when we found ourselves in the most beautiful glass cabana on a hilltop overlooking their lake, vineyards and the entire valley. As we posed for a picture with this gorgeous backdrop, Matt dropped to one knee to my utter surprise.
I don’t remember half of what he said but the moment was perfect. Thankfully, Teri was there to take a video of the whole thing so we could relive the moment again and again. Moms really do know best!
