How We Met
Austin and I didn’t meet each other the traditional way. We met via a social media dating app, Tinder. Our first conversation was about dogs and from there we started talking more. Austin then asked me out on our first date. We went to Chili’s for dinner and Kop’s for dessert before hitting the movie theater to see the Fast and Furious 7. I had lied to him and said that I was a fan of the movies when in reality that was the first movie I ever saw. Our first date was awkward. Like really, awkward. When we sat down for the movie, Austin leaned over and said, “This is awkward but I think it’s going somewhere.” Boy was he right! We met up the next day and have been inseparable ever since.
How They Asked
Austin told me that he wanted to take me to celebratory dinner on a Friday night to celebrate an event that happened at work that week. Earlier in the day, he casually asked if I wanted to go to Holy Hill before our dinner reservations. Knowing that we go to Holy Hill a lot together I did not think any different about this trip. On the drive there, Austin did not seem nervous at all. He did not however know that the grounds close at 7pm. We arrived at Holy Hill at 6:54pm. I was annoyed and told Austin that there was no way we could make it to the main chapel in six minutes. He was bound and determined to get us up there. We were looking over the balcony at all the surrounding areas just as the sun was starting to set. We started talking about how many kids we would have and if we would bring them to Holy Hill to visit. Austin asked when we could start having kids and I told him a joke that when I got a ring on my finger we could. He turned to me and said, so does that mean I have to ask you to marry me? Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! We celebrated by calling all of our family and friends! Then had a nice romantic dinner just the two of us at Fox and Hounds Restaurant.
