Makenzee and Tyson
how they asked
It was April 1st (of all days!) and it also happened to be Easter Sunday. The day went off as any normal crazy holiday with two children. I am a hockey freak, obsessed. Our local ECHL hockey team the Adirondack Thunder actually has a game later that day. Typically my now fiancé works the games as an EMT at the arena but for some odd reason, he wasn’t scheduled! I didn’t think anything of it and was excited that we all actually got to go and watch the game as a family that night. During the second period, intermission friends of ours came over to our seat to “visit” with our daughter, so then my now fiancé asked our other friend to take a picture of him and me with his phone. Turns out, he actually went live on Facebook so all of our friends and family could watch the moment.
The 5-minute buzzer was extra long, and the team photographer had happened to wander his way over to our section. I turn around because we were on the big screen and my fiancé is down on one knee. And he asked me to marry him! And as Dan Miner (the announcer) said “she said YESSS!) I have been to every local hockey game since I was four or five years old, but this most definitely has been my favorite!
Now on February 29, 2020 we will become husband and wife at our destination wedding!
