How They Asked
That morning Daniel told me he had to take a photo for his friend’s wedding website. I was being stubborn and kept bothering him to send an old photo, but he insisted he wanted his picture taken on the beach. We had already had date plans because it was my first weekend off in months. We were supposed to ride bikes on the pier and go to dinner. He was being weird all day telling me I had to look nice for the bike ride. He went to get his hair cut and I thought to myself something is fishy- he never seriously cares about my outfits and never wants to take photos! When he came back I asked him “Are you proposing ?!” He told me “No are you crazy?! You have some serious wedding fever.”
But he did tell me there was a surprise and I was ruining it. So I bugged him until he told me and he told me he was taking me on a boat ride before dinner. We finally head down to ride bikes and he keeps stopping to text “boat guy” along the way and tells me to look for a man in a red hat. We stop in Santa Monica and I realize the area we parked our bikes is a restricted area, Daniel is bugging me to leave the bike alone because we have to go catch the boat before it leaves without us.
As we start walking on the beach Daniel points out a romantic picnic and said: “Yeah that’s cute but it’s not for us.” Before I realize what is going on he is dragging me to the picnic and I black out and he’s down on one knee!
