How We Met
David and I met on a mission trip to Nepal where we spent 3 months together serving the people of Nepal. I knew him for about 6 months and we established a really good friendship. Neither of us liked each other until one week where we were stuck inside in a village just hanging out and playing games and talking since it was raining a ton.
When we were back in America, he separately texted a bunch of people to go on a drive, but I was the only one who showed up thinking it was a date. I was so excited he finally asked me out! We didn’t end up getting to go that night, but he asked me out for coffee a couple of days later and the rest is history.
How They Asked
Earlier that week, David casually mentioned that he had a date planned for Saturday. On Saturday, our friend knocked on my door and surprised me with a card and my favorite local coffee from David. It hinted that a road trip was ahead. Throughout the day, David had many cards with hints on them about what was happening next. I and a couple of friends drove to Estes Park, Colorado, one of my favorite places ever.
All along the trail were different friends – some from Colorado and two of my best friends from my home state that David flew in to surprise me! He hired a videographer and photographer to capture all the moments. We all hiked up through icy trails to the top of a rock where David proposed. It was the most thoughtful day filled with my favorite people and the beginning of forever with my best friend!
