How We Met
In the fall of 2014, I started my sophomore year at Franklin & Marshall College. My close friends and I wanted to check out the greek life scene, and get an opportunity to just meet new people in general. At the first event we went too, Madison and I met. She saw me from across the room and introduced herself.
How They Asked
I have always known that I wanted the proposal would be at an outdoor venue, where it would just be Madison and I sharing the special moment. With the help of Madison’s best-friend, Katie, we were able to find the perfect venue at the Inn at Grace Winery in Glenn Mills, PA. I planned the proposal to happen on July 3rd, one day before the 4th. I knew that Madison wanted to share this incredible moment with her family, so I made sure that we would be seeing them the next day at their annual 4th of July event. In preparation for the proposal, I coordinated with the incredibly helpful staff at Grace Winery to show me around the property and walk me through the vineyard, so I could find the specific spot I wanted to propose. All the while, I was taking videos and photos to show Heidi Roland, my incredible photographer, exactly where I wanted the moment to happen. So I had the location down, the photographer all sorted out, the last thing I had to do was to bring Madison there! Funny enough, it took some convincing to get her to go out to dinner on July 3rd around 6pm, as she wanted to just be with her family for the 4th. I was able to convince her to go out to dinner with me, telling her that we would be seated within the vineyard at this amazing winery, she couldn’t resist. At dinner, we enjoyed ourselves with a cheese tray and bottle of wine. Around 5:55pm I knew it was time to get up and walk to my proposal spot. With a glass of wine in hand, Madison and I walked all the way to the end of the vineyard. As we got to the exact spot, we were alone in an amazing vineyard during the prime time of golden hour, and I popped the big question! Needless to say, she was surprised!
