Madelyn and Bryan
How We Met
I and Bryan met four years ago at a mutual friends birthday party. He caught my eye from across the room but neither of us introduced ourselves. Fast forward almost 2 years and we ended up sitting right next to each other in a child development class. Throughout the semester he would offer me rides home, and really took the time to get to know me.
It was so crazy to me that someone as great as he wanted to know ME! Then on June 6th, 2017 he asked me to be his girlfriend. He sang “Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars”, and played guitar. It was such a great day and a day I’ll never forget.
How They Asked
The day he asked me to marry him felt like any other Friday. I had no idea what was going to come just hours later! I am a photographer so I had a shoot planned for that night, at a gazebo in downtown Concord. He was supposed to come with me because he also knew the people I was going to work with. Little did I know that he had been planning this proposal for MONTHS.
He picked me up from my work and we drove to where the gazebo is, I still had NO clue what was going on. We got out of the car and started walking towards the gazebo. Once we started to get close I saw a piano and a mic stand, but even then I still couldn’t put it all together.
Once we got there he turned around and said “Baby, this isn’t a photo shoot…” and THAT’S when I finally realized that the day I had been dreaming of my whole life was finally happening. He then sang “Why I love you” by MAJOR while our friend played piano in the background. As he started to sing all of my family and friends came out from behind, and that’s when I really started to cry.
I was so full of love and awe. He finished singing the song and then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, and of course, I said YES!!!! After that, we went back to my house where more of our friends and family gathered to celebrate us! It was an absolute dream and I wish I could re-live it over and over again. I can’t wait to marry the man of my dreams and love him for the rest of my life. I am so incredibly blessed & God is so good.
