How We Met
Daniel and I went to the same high school and met his senior year. We started “dating” or whatever you do in high school in May of 2009. He went off to school and I still had 2 more years of high school. At that time, neither of thought anything serious would come of our relationship due to the distance. We had our ups and downs and our hearts felt otherwise. I graduated two years later and started college in Raleigh, NC while Daniel was at Appalachain State University. After two years at Meredith College in Raleigh, I transferred to Appalachian State. Daniel graduated undergrad and went back to get his masters degree (I say he couldn’t stand to be away from me for too long) and graduated in December of 2014. I will graduate this coming May.

One rainy morning in 10th grade I felt someone run up behind me and grab my umbrella. We awkwardly walked into school together that morning and the rest was history –almost 7 years later Daniel asked me to spend the rest of my life with him in a place we both hold near to our hearts. Daniel was visiting me at school (Appalachian State University) where he also attended and told me we were meeting our friends for dinner but it would be a while until everyone arrived. He said we could drive through the parkway to waste some time. He pulled off the road onto an overlook, got down on one knee and proposed. Of course I said yes!
