How We Met
Well, Manny would say that we met in high school, but I personally have no memory of this. whoops… Our big “moment” would be at a summer camp that we both ended up working at the Summer of 2012. I found Manny intriguing and funny, he claims that I was quirky and bubbly which drew him to me. We started talking that summer and going on dates, but when the summer ended, so did we. Summer loving, happened so fast.
We both ended up dating other people for a few years and those relationships both ended. We ran into each other at a mutual friend’s wedding in December 2014. We didn’t think much of it and we went to get coffee to catch up. That winter season we started to hang out and go on dates. The more time we spent together, the more it became clear. We dated long distance for a year and a half, and then on October 8, 2016 Manny proposed.
how they asked
Well…I may or may not have known about the whole proposal for a good two months. I am a little too inquisitive and he is a little horrid at keeping secrets. So, I had all of the time to get the right nail color, research cute hair styles, and get a new athletic shirt – I knew we were hiking. Manny knew when he picked me up that I knew, but he powered on. We went hiking on the Saturday of October 8th and near the middle of that hike is when he proposed.
He had our close friend and excellent photographer, Christina Pugh there to photograph the whole moment. I was giving him crap the whole time and walking the opposite way of where he wanted to go…whoops :)
Christina was then waiting for us at the end of our hike and took some lovely engagement photos.
To add to the hype of the day, Manny had organized a huge engagement party at my parent’s house and flew in all of my friends from out of state. It was great to have some girl time and then party to the late hours of the night with family and friends.
