Lynda and Joshua

How We Met

Apparently Joshua and I have been in school together since middle school however, it was not until 2005 that I got the chance to get to know him a little. We had a school field trip to DC and ended up becoming casual friends. When we graduated high school we briefly kept in contact through Facebook. Then on July 1st, 2014 Joshua hit me up on Facebook asking if I wanted to grab some ice cream and catch up on July 5th. I didn’t see anything wrong with that so I said sure. Some friends and I had last minute plans to go out of town for the 4th of July meaning it could be a possibility that I would not be back until later on the 5th of July. I ended up telling Joshua that I was unsure if I was going to be able to meet him Saturday afternoon and he told me that was fine and to let him know in the morning if I would be able to or not. Unforeseen circumstances occurred causing my friends and I to cancel our plans. Joshua called me on Saturday morning asking if I knew if I could meet him and I told him about how my plans fell through and that I would be able to meet him. What was intended to be about and hour or two hours of eating ice cream and catching up, ended up being about 6 hours of just talking and having a real connection.

how they asked

On 9/19/15 I was under the impression that my sister and brother and I were going to Duke Gardens to take pictures for Christmas cards for the upcoming holiday. However, my fiancé had a romantic proposal planned leading me around Duke Gardens and involving both my parents and his parents and some of our friends. He then had one of the members of his church sing and play the guitar as I walked up to the Duke garden gazebo where he was standing waiting to propose to me. And of course I said YES to the love of my life!!!
