How We Met
Rob and I met in 2014 when he was stationed in Quantico, Virginia and I was completing my third year at the University of Maryland. We ran into each other at a bar with friends and I instantly knew I was going to marry him one day. It is a feeling that I still cannot describe to this day.
Rob was from Michigan and I lived in Maryland. We did long-distance until I finished school and then I moved to Michigan to be with him. We started our careers and our life together. In the last five years, Rob and I lived in our first apartment together, been through a year-long deployment, purchased our first home, and added our pup Bogey to the family.
How They Asked
Rob and I were getting ready to go out to meet his family for drinks. It was getting late and we were running around trying to get our things together. We were both in the kitchen as I started rambling about how clutter needs to have a place… Rob starts talking about how he talked to my dad that day. Not thinking anything of it, I keep listening to what he’s saying and I turn around to see the ring in his hand. Rob continues saying “I talked to your Dad today to ask him permission to marry you” He then gets down on one knee, with our dog Bogey jumping right next to him, and asks me! It was a yes for me! ❤️💍
