How We Met
We met in high school, Nate was a year older than me. We were both on student council and Nate and his friends nick named me horse girl (since I spent more time at the barn than at home). Our lockers were also next to each other. I gave him a pretty hard time so much so that he thought I would say no to going to prom with him so he asked a friend from another school. I guess he thought about me the whole night and after that we finally decided to make our relationship official!
how they asked
Nate suggested we go see the movie “How to be Single” so we did. During the previews Nate seemed weirdly nervous and turned kind of green. He told me he was going to go to the bathroom but came back with a box (not bag) of popcorn. It was a pretty large box so I guess I began eating it fairly quickly at which point he told me to slow down and took it a way. I wondered if he was trying to tell me he thought I should lose some weight.
After expressing this concern he laughed and began handing me rations of popcorn; 5-6 kernels every 10 minutes or so. At the end of the movie he was green and clammy again and asked me if I was wondering why he wouldn’t let me eat the popcorn. Before I could answer he was down on one knee pulling a ring out of the popcorn box during the credits. The whole thing was totally fun and quirky just like our relationship.
