How We Met
Zac and I have known each other since we were in grade school. We are both from the same hometown and share mutual friends. Throughout growing up we shared a lot of young flirtatious moments however nothing ever quite went past a friendship. After high school we both went our separate ways. Zac moved to Brooklyn and I went off to Philadelphia. It was not until one night in the summer of 2012 that we reunited again in Cape May, NJ. I went down to Cape May with a mutual friend of ours and ran into Zac at a bar there. The rest is history!
how they asked
My grandparents own a home in Bonita Springs, Florida. Zac and I started making a tradition of going to Florida each President’s Day weekend to escape the winter blues and soak up some Florida sun. A month or two before our trip Zac and I had began discussing taking the next step of getting engaged a bit more seriously. We both knew from the beginning that is something we wanted however decided to take our time. I saw a ring style I liked and decided to email it to him. He baited me along and expressed that maybe next Fall would be a better time. I didn’t give it much more thought and a few weeks later we left for our trip. On our 3rd day we decided to have a long beach day and packed a big cooler filled with food and beer. As we were laying on the beach chatting away about how happy we made each other and our futures, Zac went down on one knee. To me it felt like the entire world stopped. All I could see (and hear) was the love of my life saying “I know I mentioned the fall. But what about right now? Will you marry me?”. After the tears I finally got out the word “yes!”. We walked along the beach after, drank some more, and both enjoyed the first few moments of our new chapter together!
