How We Met
We went on our first date in January 2014, when I was living in the United States for a year. When I left Germany the following summer we decided to work out a long-distance relationship. Well, it did work out! 5 years of LDR, 18 flights between Germany and the US, 6 hours of time difference, thousands of phone calls and messages, celebrating every single Christmas and New Years together, traveling to different countries, and getting a dog + a cat … 5 1/2 years since our first date, we are now engaged and waiting for my visa to be approved. So I can move to the US. So we can get married and finally live together.
How They Asked
Not only was I genuinely shocked but despite the cold weather, my heart was warm and full of love the moment he proposed!
I didn’t expect his proposal at this moment. We love to hike, explore, travel and to discover new spots. So when we went to see the castle Neuschwanstein we decided to leave the trail, walk away from the tourists and hike up the mountain to catch a view of the castle and landscape the average tourist wouldn’t get. While soaking in the fresh mountain air and enjoying our view he went down on his knee and asked me to be his wife and spend a lifetime full of happiness together. It was magical!
