Lindy and Spencer's Sunrise Proposal
How We Met: In the Fall of 2011, Spencer and I were set up on a date by some mutual friends. We ended going on a quadruple date and started talking after that. We talked for a couple weeks and for some reason I was unsure of myself and the relationship so I broke it off. I had told him, “If we’re meant to be, it’s not supposed to be right now.” Fast forward a year and we some how found our way back together. At first I was still unsure but once I realized how patient and kind Spencer was, it just felt right! We started dating on 11/22/12 and I fell for him pretty quickly. The past 2 years and 9 months with Spencer have been the best of my life!
how they asked: Spencer’s birthday is on July 30th and for his birthday I got him tickets to a Red Sox game. The tickets were for Saturday, August 15th and I had been planning it for a while. I didn’t tell him we were going until the Tuesday before and when I did he said he was planning for us to hike the mountain that day. He mentioned that he wanted to do a sunrise hike so we would still have time to go to the game. I was so excited because I had been wanting to climb the mountain for sunrise! So on Saturday morning we woke up at 3 in the morning and started climbing with flashlights. We got to the top faster than we expected so I was taking pictures and enjoying our time together while we waited for the sun.
The sun started coming up and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day to be on top of the mountain. The sunrise was gorgeous! There were other people watching the sunrise so Spencer asked if I wanted to have someone take a picture of us with the sunrise in the back ground and I love pictures so I was all for it. When the lady started taking pictures Spencer started telling me that he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He started getting down on one knee and by that point I was already crying. It was the absolute best moment of my life!
Every part of it felt like a dream! We started climbing down right away to go to our family breakfast at my house. I was so excited to share the news with all the people that matter the most! The day was spent seeing our families and a Red Sox game on top of everything else. He planned everything so perfectly and I’m the luckiest girl in the world to have him!
