Lindsey and Jeremy's Proposal in Greece

How We Met: Jeremy and I met in 2010 at the University of Florida when he was a senior and I was a junior. We met at a mutual friend’s apartment and were instantly attracted to one another. Jeremy invited me on his formal and we had an amazing time. Jeremy then graduated and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. I graduated a year later and moved to Miami, Florida. Coincidentally, we both ended up in New York City. Within a month of my moving to New York, we began dating and the rest is history.

how they asked: This July, Jeremy and I took our summer vacation to Greece. Before the trip, he let me know he wasn’t going to propose because he didn’t want to travel internationally with a ring and hoped that I wouldn’t be disappointed. I let him know that I was still incredibly excited and had zero expectations that anything would happen. Our hotel room in Santorini had a private balcony with a table, chairs and a plunge pool. On our first morning in Santorini, Jeremy suggested that we have breakfast delivered to our terrace. I thought it was a nice idea and figured he wanted us to enjoy the view. Before we began our meal, Jeremy gave a very thoughtful toast. This still didn’t seem unusual because we typically toast whenever we have champagne. I saw Jeremy reach in his pocket, but I “knew” he wasn’t proposing on this trip, so I didn’t think anything of it. Finally, he got down on one knee and all I could say is, “What are you doing?!” When I finally realized he was actually proposing, I obviously said yes! Our college selves definitely wouldn’t have seen this coming, but we couldn’t be happier that it did…
