Lindsay and Tim

Image 1 of Lindsay and TimHow We Met: Tim and I met our freshman year of high school. We were best friends for 2 years before we started dating. Our junior year we both realized how much we really liked each other. He asked me to prom and the rest is history. I think being friends for so long first and having that bond of growing up together really has helped us along this journey. We fell in love with each others hearts rather than just merely attraction. He is so easy to love and I am so lucky to be marrying my soul mate, best friend, and love of my life! Life with him has already been so fun and we cannot wait to see what else is in store for us!

how they asked: We woke up early and Tim was so antsy to get the day started. He was so excited about deciding on what I should wear on our hike to Yosemite Falls (which is so unlike him). We got a filling breakfast and then headed to the start of the trail. Tim was filming with the go-pro throughout the hike and little did I know but he was secretly talking to the camera about how today was the day he was going to propose. Once we got to Yosemite Falls he mentioned that we should keep going just a bit further to Yosemite Point because he had heard it was less crowded. When we got to the top we were greeted with a spectacular view and absolutely no one around. It was stunning, the kind of stunning where you skip a breath. He then got the camera out and said, “We need to get a picture of this.” He set it on a timer and then came running over to me, gave me a big kiss and then got down on one knee and said, “You’re my best friend and the love of my life. I can’t wait to spend forever with you. Will you marry me?” It was such a dream of a moment and I kept asking if this was for real! I immediately started crying. He then told me that him, his mom and five sisters all went to go choose out the ring while he was still in the fire academy. That made it all the more special. The fact that he took the time during the most intense training of his life to go and buy me my dream ring meant more than I think he could have ever imagined. He gave me the most beautiful ring, in the most beautiful place… But best of all I got the most beautiful person to spend forever with. I am so excited to witness all of our dreams come to life. Being high school sweethearts and dating for seven years has made us so ready for this next step and we can’t wait to see what life has in store for us. We know there will be ups and downs but I feel secure knowing this man will be by my side. The proposal was followed by a perfect picnic with sandwiches, crackers, and wine. We truly were on top of the world.

Not sure what I did to get him, but I am sure glad I got him!

The following day we enjoyed spending time with just each other…napping under half dome and staring at my new ring! Little did I know that the following day I would be in for yet another surprise. After the long (but exciting) drive home, I walked into Tim’s parents house expecting to attend our nephew’s ninth birthday party…As I turned the corner to walk out back I was greeted by a huge “CONGRATULATIONS!” Everybody I love was there! My family, his family, old friends, new friends, friends that flew in from out of town, and even my dogs! I could not even begin to digest how they all managed to pull this off, as I am not an easy one to get things by. I was so thrilled and could not ask for better people to do life with!
