How We Met
We first met through mutual friends. Didn’t think much of it at first because he was just getting into the army at his first duty station gettimy ready to deploy, I just got back from studying abroad in Korea getting ready to graduate college and also the fact that we were long distance. We continued to date, but not too seriously at first because of all that, but secretly we must have known something because we held on and continue to be with each other. Through a long deployment, finishing my undergrad career and also with some unfortunate events that hindered our relationship, we still continued to support each other from afar and continue to push each other to be better and strive for the best.

We were joking around about getting married for awhile. We had been together for awhile and after being with each other for awhile, we decided to get more serious about marriage. When we would take walks around the parks, malls or even just around the neighborhood, we would joke around by getting down on one knee… but just to tie his shoe or to pick up something from the ground. This time, while we were at the park, he did the same thing, but this time he pulled out a ring and asked the question.
There tears of happiness and I was ecstatic about the moment. The best part was that everything was caught on camera as there was a photographer present as well. When I asked why he decided to do it in uniform, he said “it is because I wanted to recapture the moment of when you first saw me and how we started our journey together.” I couldnt have asked for anything better! I love this man and I am so happy, and excited to spend the rest of my life with him.
