How We Met
Justin and I met through mutual friends. His best friend went to college with my best friend and met one night out. He swears he knew I was the one when I walked through his apartment door before a pregame. I didn’t see even see him hiding behind the computer- haha. We went on 30 dates and we parted ways. Life got in the way. Fast forward two years later we ran into each other while out with friends again. We decided to give it another go, and we never looked back again. Time and space are needed to grow. And we grew right for each other.
How They Asked
On 8/15/20 I could sense his nervousness. He said he had a surprise for me- his sister was coming in to take care of our puppy while we have a date night. Our puppy had just been recently neutered so we had to keep it low key while he recovered. I was happy that he was so thoughtful but he was very … uneasy. Also, the 2 pm glass of scotch gave a lot away. I got ready for our dinner and off we went.
While on our way back home I opened our apartment door as I am always the one to carry the keys I saw our apartment covered in rose petals and candles! As I walked through I heard my pups toe beans scouring to me. His bandana said it all “Will you marry my dad?” In the midst of all the chaos, I saw my best friend, Christina (who is a photographer), capturing my pure shock and laugh. I had the “I knew it” cackles. He said, “Will you marry me?” And I blurted out “Of course!” I blacked out during the entire experience!
During COVID I have enjoyed being home with my boys. Doing the proposal at home was the best idea he’s ever had. I’ll treasure our place a little bit more now ❤️.
I was convinced to take pictures outside and then to have some champagne. As we walked towards the restaurant I heard screams and it was close family and friends on a boat ready to sail us into the harbor for the night. I couldn’t have been more emotional even if I tried!
