How We Met
With me in Greenville, SC and Brian a new resident of Athens, GA, let’s just say we had to “set wide ranges” in order to find each other. After a few quick conversations surrounding ESPN College Gameday and a pupper named Rico, Brian knew he had to meet this football-loving, southern belle in person. After Rally Cats practice on the Wednesday before Clemson’s home opener, Brian drove up from Athens to take me out to dinner at Blue Heron. Lucky for him, it was Wine Wednesday (an important factor in dating me), and we chatted until the waitress subtly kicked us out so they could close. Two days later, Brian came to my house in Greenville for the first time, and we spent the next twelve months falling in love over a shared passion for college football and good vino.
How They Asked
I was prepping to coach my dancers in their first football game, and Brian was prepping for the biggest day of our lives. After Clemson beat Georgia Tech 52-14, I huddled with my girls to sing the Clemson alma mater. With some distraction from my captains, I didn’t notice Brian sneaking up behind me on the field. I turned around to find him (clothes changed and hair re-gelled) getting down on one knee to ask me for forever.
It took me about .05 seconds to say yes, and we were quickly surrounded with love from the Rally Cats, family, and friends.
