Leah and Alex

How We Met

Alex and I first met when I was in 10th grade and he was in 11th grade. We had a couple of mutual friends but didn’t become more than Facebook friends at the time. Fast forward to my Sophomore year in college and his Junior year in college (Crazy right?) we had an elective music class together. It was a completely random thing as he majored in business and I was majoring in Biology. Our home classes were on two opposite sides of campus.

Well, out of 90 people, he noticed me and sent me the best pick up line on Facebook “I’m sorry this is awkward…but I’m one of *mutual friends name* friends and I think I saw you in my Music 140 class, do we have a quiz tomorrow?” and that’s the first time he caught my eye. I was surprised he noticed ME out of all those students and took to Facebook to find me. Our first date was on Halloween of 2014 and we became a couple shortly after. We’ve been inseparable since!

Marriage Proposal Ideas in Our Brand New House

how they asked

We had originally met in the 10th grade through mutual friends. We never became close, but 4 years later, I caught Alex’s eye in our college music elective. There were 90 people in that class, and he had recognized me when I walked in one day. He messaged me on Facebook and we started chatting. Our first date was on Halloween 2014. We instantly hit it off and got along great. I moved in shortly after in January 2015, as I was looking for an apartment anyhow. We dated for 2 years and some months when we decided we wanted to purchase our own home.

On January 9th, 2017, we closed on our very first house. We were so excited to have the keys that we took a load of furniture over to the new house. I was sitting in the living room on the couch, taking it all in, thinking of decorating ideas. Then, Alex came up to me and dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes! It was the perfect proposal, in our new home. We’re getting married on September 2, 2018, at a beautiful venue in Colorado!
