How We Met
Matt and I met at a summer beach retreat for our college ministry, Campus Outreach. We got asked to lead a team of students together and had so much fun doing it! Matt went to Georgia Tech and I was at school at Kennesaw State, so we didn’t overlap a ton following that summer, but eventually reconnected when we both took jobs with Campus Outreach at Georgia Tech post graduation.
How They Asked
A year after working together, Matt and I went on our first date to Stone Mountain. We are both adventurous people and love to explore new places and being outside. Many of our favorite dates as couple included hiking and playing outdoors, so that’s what Matt planned for our special day. On September 30th, Matt picked me up and we ate lunch at a sandwich shop near the beltline in Atlanta. Afterwards, he took me to a sunflower field in Dawsonville, followed by a short walk around the Amicalola Falls. Next, Matt drove us back to Atlanta to Whitewater State Park, where we have been many times before. We hiked up to catch the sunset and shared a glass of wine. There, on top of a rock, overlooking the Chattahoochee river is where Matt got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I cannot wait for a lifetime of adventures with him!
