How We Met
Preston and I met almost four years ago while both living in Seattle, WA. I was working at Amazon and Preston was in his third year of dental school at the University of Washington. The credit goes to Bumble for making a first date happen! A year and a half ago, we moved to Chicago for work. Preston matched into UIC for Oral Surgery residency and I got a new role at Amazon based in Chicago. The move took some time to adjust but we found a beautiful spot in River North and adopted our fenchie, Pistachio. We have grown together through all the adjustments and are looking forward to our next step as husband and wife! WOOT!
How They Asked
Preston planned a romantic ski trip to Banff for the holidays. He told me he had a snow tour planned on Monday but it was canceled due to bad weather and postponed to Wednesday. When we arrived, I was looking around for a bus only to find a freaking helicopter! I’d mentioned years ago I had never been in one and he remembered.
It was the most incredible experience but we weren’t able to land on the mountain due to wind. The proposal turned out even better as we made a second stop at the gondola and I wasn’t expecting it all. He found a couple to “take a picture” and then got down on one knee! The best part is, after a beautiful speech he actually forgot to ask me. I reminded him and then screamed a lot of YESSES!
