How We Met
KC and I met by chance at work. Although we work for the same company, it’s very large and we do very different things. It is also common to work from many different locations depending on what you do since it’s a professional services firm. KC and I happened to be sitting close to each other at our home office one Friday. I’m really bad at MS Excel and was in a tough spot, so I looked over at the guy next to me and he was doing what looked like Excel wizardry! I tapped him on the shoulder since I was desperate for help, he turned around, helped me, was very kind, we went for coffee, and the rest is history!
how they asked
KC and I picked out my engagement ring together in July of 2018, but he told he wanted to hold on to it for a bit so that the proposal would be a surprise. He definitely threw me off the trail, since he made it seem like it would happen this Thanksgiving.
We went to NYC for the long, Labor Day weekend and got tickets to see “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” parts one and two at the Lyric Theatre. Right before part two was about to start and we were waiting for the doors to open to get our seats, he got down on one knee and pulled the ring box out with the ring inside of it and proposed. Luckily, he handed his phone to a very kind usher/attendant who managed to get the proposal on video and take some great pictures. KC chose September 1st as the day of the proposal in honor of my late dad, since it would have been his 77th birthday. I was so touched that KC did that as such a sign of respect and in memory of him.
