How We Met
Jacob and I met in October 2012 when I started working with him at an ergonomic office furniture company. We became friends pretty quickly but didn’t start a relationship for a while. Our beginning was, to put it lightly, bumpy. We needed to take some time off in order to figure out ourselves. Honestly, it was probably the best thing for us. We were both able to grow and become the people we needed for one another. We reconnected in the beginning of 2018 and haven’t let one another go. From the beginning, Jacob and I knew we were connected. I think that our story is one that shows that if there’s a strong enough connection/bond, it’s worth fighting for. Luckily for us, since we’ve both figured out that we’re made for one another, everything has fallen together so beautifully. We even adopted a dog together (her name is Sidney)!
How They Asked
For my birthday, Jacob wanted to take me to Paris since I wouldn’t stop talking about how much I missed it. Before we left, he told me he’d hired a photographer because he found this amazing library to do a photoshoot in. The Bibliotheque Sainte-Genevieve. Being a huge bookworm and an English Major, Jacob said he knew this would be the perfect place to propose. He got his accomplices together, didn’t sleep a wink the night before, and dragged me off to the library of my dreams. When it came time to ask, the photographer told me that we were going to do individual shots in order to distract me. It worked. Jacob approached me and asked me to be his wife!! I am so beyond thrilled that there are photos of the EXACT moment he asked me in such a beautiful place. Everything was absolutely perfect, from the actual place, to the words he said to me, to the ring. It’s a good thing that he never has to ask me to marry him again because I don’t think he’d be able to top this!
