How We Met
Greg and I met in 7th grade French class but we were only casual friends for a long time. As we entered high school we became closer friends, we were apart of each others core groups, and we became closer friends. I was a ballerina, and traveled a lot during the school year to dance but Greg and I really got to know each other during our Senior year of High School because I was around more. He asked me to be his girlfriend on November 14, 2008, while we were standing on my front porch, after one of our high school football games! #HighschoolSweethearts
Gregory went to college in Arizona and I went to college in California, A LOT of people told us it was never going to work out, that long distance relationships were really difficult….and it was! It wasn’t always fun & easy, but Greg and I made an effort to make it work. After 4 years of college, Greg came back to California for graduate school, even though we were both in graduate school being in the same state took our relationship to the next level. It was everything I wanted it to be.
how they asked
On November 14, 2015, our 8 year (dating) anniversary Greg picked me up for s surprise weekend gateway. I had no idea what we were doing. We had brunch at our favorite local restaurant and then we drove all the way to Moss Beach. Moss Beach is where we had one of our first dates when we were first dating, it was really special going back to a place I hadn’t been in almost 8 years! There is a small beach there that we walked along and when we hit the very end of the beach he got down on one knee, pulled out the most beautiful rose gold, diamond, ring and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I can’t even remember what he said, and I’m positive I “said YES” before he even finished asking me!
It was absolutely perfect! Just Greg & I and the Pacific Ocean. I wouldn’t have the start to our lives together any other way! #ForeverHappilyEverAshton
