How We Met
The first time I saw Lauren was in my freshman English class, she sat across the room from me and I couldn’t help but stare at her. She was so beautiful, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of her! We had a few classes together throughout our college career but it wasn’t until her senior year (my junior year) that I got the courage to go talk to her. Lauren wasn’t like all the other girls, there was something special about her that always kept me interested. With a little help from her best friend I finally approached Lauren while we were out one night and the rest is history!
how they asked
Dom and I made plans to go visit his family for Christmas up in Maryland for a few days. I had never seen New York City during the holidays so we decided to plan a day trip up there to mark the start of our vacation. I didn’t really have any expectations other than to see the city in all its magic during Christmas time. We started the day doing a little window shopping and seeing all of the of the holiday decorations. Afterwards we made our way to Bryant park and the Rockefeller Center. He told me we had strict plans to meet his brother for lunch at 3:00 at a restaurant in the middle of central park, so we made one last stop into Saint Patricks Cathedral to pray and see the glory of God’s beauty in such an amazing church. We then arrived in Central Park where we were supposed to be having lunch. Dom told me his brother said we would go over bow bridge and then would arrive at the restaurant, but when we got to the bridge itself our lunch plans quickly disappeared. He began taking his gloves off and told me he had a poem for me that he’d written. As he read me the most beautiful poem I began to realize what was happening. Dom then got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him!! I said YES of course and he then gave me the most beautiful ring I could ever ask for! After the tears slowed down a bit he introduced me to another Lauren who had been capturing the whole moment and told me that he had arranged a few hours of photos in the park so that we would always be able to look back to the day of our engagement. It was picture perfect to say the least!
