How We Met
Dane moved to Richmond. VA from Chicago for work. We happened to live a block away from each other began running into each other around town. We instantly hit it off and we both later admitted that after our first date we knew we were going to be spending the rest of our lives together.
how they asked
Dane had planned a nice night out with our families who were both visiting from out of town. The families requested that we take a large group photo before going to dinner. Dane suggested we go to the top of a beautiful park, Libby Hill, overlooking the entire city. Libby Hill happened to be the location of our first date and a place we would frequent to catch beautiful sunsets, so it wasn’t uncommon for us to venture here. We were getting the family together for the picture and Dane took my hand and pulled me away from the group. Dane got down on one knee with the sun setting in the background and our families there to witness the special moment. Dane said the sweetest things and asked me to make him the happiest man alive and be his wife. Not knowing what to do, I dropped to my knees to get closer to him as we both were so overjoyed.
Dane hired a photographer to capture the entire thing. Myself and both of our moms were so surprised by the proposal; our dads and his brother had been a part of the grand plan. Dane had been meeting with my uncle, who is a jeweler, to design my ring for the last few months without me even having a clue. We then went to a fancy dinner where we had an entire room reserved and the waiters greeted us with champagne for a celebratory toast. The entire day was perfect and so special to share with our family and be captured by an amazing photographer
