How We Met
Cameron and I met four years ago. One of my best friends had been trying to set us up for a long time, and I was not very keen on the idea. I had been set up before, and it never ended well. This time, it was different. We met after his GCU baseball game, and went to Zipps Sports Grill for dinner with a bunch of other friends. We sat across from each other at the table, and talked like we had known each other for years. My cheeks were on fire from laughing and smiling so much. We hugged goodbye, and I felt myself missing him already. As the weeks went on, we grew more and more smitten for one another, and it didn’t take long for me to realize that this was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

Cameron surprised me with a weekend getaway to Sedona, AZ. We stayed at L’Auberge; a place I had always dreamed of staying. We arrived to our cottage alongside the creek, and it was absolutely breathtaking. A good friend had sent champagne and strawberries to the room, so we enjoyed a glass in our fancy room before getting ready for our “wine tasting.” As he led me to what was supposed to be a wine tasting, I noticed he made a wrong turn. He told me it was a short cut. He led me to a private gazebo along the creek, with a beautiful chandelier and a table set with two glasses of champagne. The moment we stepped inside, he grabbed my hands and pulled me close. In that instant, I knew what he had been up to the whole time. I could not believe it was happening! I don’t remember the words he said, but more of the overwhelming feeling of love and happiness washing over me. Trying not to cry my eyes out, I immediately said yes. I am absolutely elated to be spending the rest of my life with the most amazing man I have ever met.
