How We Met

It all started three February’s ago when I broke my iPhone and Zach was working at AT&T while finishing school. I went in to replace my phone and Zach made failed attempts to flirt with me. After a few days of texting back and forth (I needed help with my phone), he asked me to go out for a drink. For our first date, we grabbed sushi and afterward we went to MOTr for a drink, a local pub. One thing led to another and we started dating.

how they asked

After almost three years of dating, Zach made plans to “play basketball” with his friends one Saturday afternoon. Shortly after leaving the house, he called me to tell me he was getting pulled over and asked for me to send him a picture of his insurance card that he mistakenly left at home. Oblivious to what was going on, I went into the home office and opened the desk drawer only to find a white envelope that read “Open Me”. So I opened the envelope which contained a letter that read “This is the beginning of your scavenger hunt; your first set of clues are 1.

Our first coffee date and 2. I like your pants – but hurry, you have to find me by 2:30 PM.” At that moment, I knew that the day I had been waiting for was finally here. After crying for what felt like an hour, I got dressed and started on my way to where we had our first coffee date. When I arrived, I was greeted by Zach’s mom and dad and they handed me another white envelope. Each clue led me to a different place where we had gone on a date, and at each spot, I was greeted by friends and family. The final clue led me to Cincinnati’s beautiful Washington Park where I saw him standing alone in front of Music Hall. As I walked toward him, it started to snow and it’s there that he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes!
